Barcelona Exhibitions in October 2026: What's On and Prices
If you are visiting in autumn, this is the list of Barcelona exhibitions in October 2026 worth building a day around: what opens this month, what closes early in the month, what you can see for free, and how long to allow for each. The big summer shows are winding down, a handful of strong autumn openings are arriving, and the weather still lets you pair a museum with a long lunch outside.
Every date and price below was checked on each venue's official website on 28 September 2026. One venue on the list is ours, and we say so where it appears. Everything else is what we would tell a friend flying in for the week.
New in October
SABDA's new immersive show (Eixample), from 17 October
Full disclosure: SABDA is our venue. SABDA's new immersive show is a 25 minute journey through four worlds of life on Earth, made in Unreal Engine and projected across the four walls of a 360° room with Dolby Atmos sound, for 25 people per session at C/ Muntaner 83B in the Eixample.
The show opens on 17 October 2026 and runs on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. Tickets cost €20 for adults and €12 for children, and include a welcome glass of cava or juice in SABDA Café. You travel at animal eye level and, for 25 minutes, become one of them. There is no headset. The nearest metro is Universitat. Details and tickets are on SABDA's exhibitions page.
How long to allow: the show itself is 25 minutes; add time for the welcome drink in SABDA Café. How to book: online in advance, since each session holds 25 people. Why go: it is made in Unreal Engine, a game engine, and the short format fits into an afternoon without eating the whole day.
Anselm Kiefer at La Pedrera, from 2 October
"The Secret Life of Plants. Anselm Kiefer in the Grothe Collection" runs at La Pedrera from 2 October 2026 to 24 January 2027, as part of the Gaudí Year programme. The exhibition ticket is €16 (€12 reduced) and free for under-12s. Open 10:00 to 19:30. lapedrera.com
How long to allow: around an hour. Why go: large-scale Kiefer works in lead, ash and plant matter, inside a Gaudí building.
Dana Lixenberg at KBr, from 1 October
The KBr photography centre in Barceloneta opens "Dana Lixenberg. American Images" alongside KBr Flama'26, a show of emerging photographers. Both run from 1 October 2026 to 17 January 2027 on one €5 ticket (€3 reduced). From October, KBr opens Tuesday to Sunday 11:00 to 19:00 and closes on Mondays. kbr.fundacionmapfre.org
How long to allow: 60 to 90 minutes for both shows. Why go: one of the most respected portrait photographers working today, for the price of a coffee and a pastry.
Iniesta Experience: The Inner Game, from 28 September
The immersive experience about Andrés Iniesta opened on 28 September in the former IMAX building on Moll d'Espanya, Port Vell, and runs until 10 January 2027. Tickets from €18. iniestaexperience.com
How long to allow: about 90 minutes. Why go: the newest immersive opening in the city, and an easy walk from the Gothic Quarter.
Codi Gaudí at Espai Imagina, open since 22 September
"Codi Gaudí, l'Experiència Inèdita" is an extended reality experience at Espai Imagina, Av. Diagonal 177, running from 22 September 2026 to 8 January 2027. Prices vary by day, with Mondays the cheapest, and under-3s go free. espai-imagina.com

Immersive and digital exhibitions
Casa Batlló, Passeig de Gràcia 43. The general visit includes the Gaudí Cube, with Refik Anadol's "Gaudí Dreams". On the second floor, Casa Batlló Contemporary shows "Gaudí-Miró-Gomis: Deconstructed" until 10 January 2027. General visit from €29, children 0 to 12 free. Allow: 1 hour 15 minutes, or 1 hour 45 with the exhibition. Book: timed tickets online. casabatllo.es
Moco Museum, Carrer de Montcada 25, El Born. Banksy, modern masters and dedicated digital and immersive art rooms. From €14.95, under-6s free. Allow: about an hour. Pair it with: the Picasso Museum next door. mocomuseum.com
Dalí Boulevard Cibernètic, Casa Amatller, Passeig de Gràcia 41. An immersive experience built around Dalí, two doors from Casa Batlló. From €15 on weekdays, €18 at weekends. Allow: about 75 minutes.
IKONO, Arenas shopping centre, Gran Via 373. Playful sensory rooms designed for photos. Open daily 12:00 to 19:00, tickets on Fever. Allow: about an hour.
White Rabbit, The Off Museum, Passeig de Gràcia 55. Ten immersive rooms on Barcelona and Catalan traditions. From €14.50. Allow: about an hour.
Museum of Banksy, Carrer Trafalgar 34. Large-scale reproductions of Banksy's work. €14, under-6s free, open daily 10:00 to 20:00. Allow: 45 to 60 minutes.
Antarctica Experience, Arenas, level 4. An immersive experience about Antarctica at GIGA Exhibitions. The official site does not list a price or closing date, so check before you go.
Balloon Story, Espacio Inmersa, C/ Llull 119, Poblenou. Giant inflatable rooms aimed at families, from €13.90. Closes on 4 October, so only the first weekend of the month.
Is it still on? The exhibitions people search for
- Pompeii (IDEAL Montjuïc): finished. "The Last Days of Pompeii" closed on 21 September 2026 and IDEAL has not announced what comes next.
- IDEAL Poblenou: the official site no longer lists the Poblenou venue and publishes no reopening date.
- Titanic: not on sale, and its former space now hosts Balloon Story.
- Van Gogh: no Van Gogh exhibition is running or announced in Barcelona for 2026.
- Egypt / Tutankhamun: the Tutankhamun show at IDEAL ended in June 2024. Nothing on Egypt is open.
- Eonarium: finished, with nothing new announced.
- teamLab: there is no teamLab venue in Spain.

Art museums
MNAC, Montjuïc. "Recovered from the Enemy", on works deposited at the museum under Franco, closes on 4 October. The shows on the "Wounded Militiaman" painting and "Sim. Acquisition, Drawing and War" run until 31 December. €12 covers the collection, temporary shows and the rooftop viewpoint. Free every Saturday from 15:00 and on the first Sunday of the month. MACBA, Raval. The collection display "Spiral of Time" runs until 17 January 2027, alongside Anna Moreno, Basel Abbas and Ruanne Abou-Rahme, and Aurèlia Muñoz's kites. €15 (€13.50 online), valid for a month. Free Thursday to Saturday from 18:00 and on the first Sunday. Allow: 90 minutes. macba.cat
CCCB, Raval. "The Cult of Beauty" runs until 8 November, €8 online or €10 at the desk. The European Prize for Urban Public Space is on until 15 October. Free on Sundays 15:00 to 20:00 with online booking. Allow: about 90 minutes. cccb.org
CaixaForum, Montjuïc. "A Force from the Past", drawn from the "la Caixa" contemporary art collection, runs from 23 September 2026 to 10 January 2027. €6, under-16s free.
Museu Tàpies, Eixample. "Àngel Jové. De intactu" closes on 11 October. Dora García's project runs until 29 November. General entry €15.
Picasso Museum, El Born. No temporary exhibition in October. "Picasso and Architecture" opens on 20 November. The collection costs €12 online and is free on Thursdays 16:00 to 19:00 and on the first Sunday, with advance booking. Allow: 90 minutes. Book: always online; the queue at the door is the longest in the city.
Design Museum, Glòries. The ADG Laus 2026 design awards are on show from 1 October to 1 November, with the Enjoia't jewellery awards until 29 November. "André Ricard. Design in Use" opens on 29 October. €6.20, free on Sundays 15:00 to 20:00.
Sant Pau Recinte Modernista. For the Gaudí centenary, "The Sagrada Família and the Hospital de Sant Pau. A Living Memory" is free at the site entrance until 15 November. From 1 October to 1 November the site also hosts Javier Pérez's installation "Folds of Time".

KBr Fundación MAPFRE, Barceloneta. Dana Lixenberg and KBr Flama'26 from 1 October, €5. See "New in October".
Foto Colectania, El Born. The Foto Colectania collection, curated by Florian Ebner, from 7 September 2026 to 4 February 2027. €5 (€3 reduced), or €8 on a joint ticket with KBr. Free on the first Sunday of the month, 11:00 to 15:00.
World Press Photo, CCCB. The 2026 edition opens on 6 November and runs to 13 December. Not open in October, but tickets go on sale during the month.
Free exhibitions
La Virreina Centre de la Imatge, La Rambla. Always free, Tuesday to Sunday 11:00 to 20:00. In October: Frederic Amat's "Vuit" and Juana Dolores until 1 November, Jean-Luc Godard until 4 October, and Marion Scemama and David Wojnarowicz from 31 October.
Palau Robert, Passeig de Gràcia. Always free. "Un teatre Lliure", on the history of the Teatre Lliure, runs until 17 January 2027, and "Ciutats en trànsit" until 10 January.
La Fabra, Sant Andreu. Free contemporary art centre, Tuesday to Saturday 12:00 to 20:00. "Interludi #2" runs until 10 January 2027.
First Sunday of October (4 October). Free entry at the MNAC, MACBA, Picasso Museum (booking required), MUHBA, the Music Museum and the Design Museum, among others. Book ahead wherever booking is asked for.
