teamLab Barcelona: Is There One? (And What to See Instead in 2026)
Short answer: no. There is no teamLab museum in Barcelona, and as of October 2026 teamLab has not announced any exhibition in Barcelona or anywhere else in Spain. teamLab Borderless and teamLab Planets are in other cities. teamLab, the Japanese art collective behind teamLab Borderless and teamLab Planets, has shown in Barcelona twice. CaixaForum Barcelona hosted "teamLab. Art, Technology and Nature" from 17 May 2021 to 9 January 2022, with interactive works that responded to visitors' movement. teamlab.art
In October 2021, Moco Museum opened its Barcelona branch with a digital art programme that included teamLab's "Flowers and People - A Whole Year per Hour", a work where a year of seasonal flowers blooms and scatters over an hour and reacts to people standing in front of it. teamLab's own website still lists it at Moco Barcelona with no end date. teamlab.art

What people love about teamLab is a specific mix: digital nature, room-scale imagery and interaction. No Barcelona venue does all three, but each of these delivers part of it.
1. Moco Museum: the teamLab connection
Moco's digital and immersive rooms in the Born are the only place in Barcelona where a teamLab work is still listed, alongside Studio Irma's mirrored infinity room "Diamond Matrix" and works by Banksy and KAWS. 2. ANIMONDO at SABDA: digital nature at room scale
Full disclosure: SABDA is our venue. ANIMONDO: Journey into the wild is a 25 minute immersive show through four worlds of life on Earth (rainforest, deep sea, Arctic and savannah), made in Unreal Engine and projected across the four walls of a 360° room with Dolby Atmos sound, for 22 people per session at SABDA, C/ Muntaner 83B in the Eixample.
Of everything in the city, it is the closest to teamLab's digital nature: you travel at animal eye level and, for 25 minutes, become one of them, with no headset. It runs on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from 24 October 2026, at €20 for adults and €12 for children under 12, including a welcome glass of cava or juice in SABDA Café. Arrival times run from 18:15 to 22:00 on Fridays, from 13:55 to 16:10 plus 21:00 and 21:45 on Saturdays, and from 13:45 to 15:15 on Sundays. 3. Casa Batlló's Gaudí Cube: digital art in a Gaudí house
Every Casa Batlló ticket ends in the Gaudí Cube, a six-sided LED room where Refik Anadol presents "Gaudí Dreams". Different artist, similar wow. From €29, children up to 12 free. casabatllo.es
4. Codi Gaudí: the interactive part
For interaction, Codi Gaudí at Espai Imagina uses VR headsets and mixed reality to let you walk through buildings Gaudí never built. Until 8 January 2027, about 70 minutes, closed on Tuesdays.
What about IDEAL?
IDEAL, the city's large projection venue, has nothing open this autumn: its Pompeii show closed on 21 September 2026 and no new exhibition has been announced.
