teamLab Barcelona: Is There One? (And What to Do Instead in 2026)
Short answer: no, Barcelona does not have a permanent teamLab museum. But the full answer is more interesting, because teamLab has exhibited here twice, pieces of that spirit are still in the city, and a few venues get surprisingly close to what makes teamLab special. Here is the complete picture.
What happened to teamLab in Barcelona
teamLab, the Japanese art collective behind the immersive museums in Tokyo and the touring installations that fill every feed, came to Barcelona in 2021. CaixaForum hosted the exhibition teamLab: Art, Technology and Nature from May 2021 to January 2022, with two interactive works where visuals responded to visitors' movement. Around the same time, Moco Museum opened with teamLab pieces in its digital art rooms.
The CaixaForum show ended in January 2022 and never returned. Since then, "teamlab barcelona" has been a search with no good answer. Until now.

If what you want is the scale, a vast hall where projections cover every surface, IDEAL in Poblenou is Barcelona's biggest. 3. SABDA: the participation
Full disclosure: this is our studio. What no other Barcelona venue offers is the third teamLab ingredient, being part of the work instead of watching it. SABDA is a 360-degree projection room with Dolby Atmos spatial audio in Eixample where you take yoga, sound healing and breathwork classes inside custom-designed visuals. 4. Eonarium: the atmosphere

What about the Van Gogh immersive experience in Barcelona?
Same story, different artist. Barcelona has hosted several Van Gogh immersive shows over the years, Meet Vincent Van Gogh, El Mundo de Van Gogh, and the touring Van Gogh: The Immersive Experience. They were all temporary, and they rotate in and out of the city. As of mid-2026 there is no permanent Van Gogh immersive show running in Barcelona: IDEAL, which hosted art-focused immersive shows in the past, is currently running Tutankhamun instead.
If a Van Gogh show is the reason you searched, check IDEAL's current program first, then consider whether one of the venues above scratches the same itch. The format is identical, only the paintings change.
