Paint and Sip in Barcelona: The Honest 2026 Guide
Paint and sip is exactly what it sounds like: a guided painting session with a drink in hand, no experience required, and you take your canvas home. It has conquered half the world's cities and Barcelona is no exception. Here is how the scene looks in 2026, what it costs, and where it is heading next.
How paint and sip works
A host walks the whole room through one painting, step by step, usually over 2 to 3 hours. Materials are included: canvas, acrylics, brushes, apron. The wine is the social lubricant, the painting is the excuse, and the point is that everyone, including the person who has not held a brush since school, leaves with something they made. It is one of the best first-date and birthday formats invented this decade.
The Barcelona scene right now
Several studios and pop-up organizers run paint and sip nights across the city, in English and Spanish. The most searched-for format, by far, is the Van Gogh theme: sessions where the group paints The Starry Night or the sunflowers while surrounded by Van Gogh imagery. One organizer even brands itself around the concept. Sessions typically run in bars, studios or event spaces, and prices vary by organizer, so check each one's current calendar.
What to look for when booking: materials included, group size (smaller is better for actual guidance), language of the session, and whether the venue is a bar with easels or a dedicated space.

For paint and sip, the room itself becomes the artwork: you paint the starry night while the starry night moves across every wall and the ceiling, with a soundtrack in spatial audio and a glass in hand.
